Yeah, this is a smidge later than I had planned, soz. But it’s totes worth the wait. A new Nintendo console should be out by the end of the year! Some great games should be on it! Those two events will probably not be at the same time!

Nintendo Wii U – So as usual with Nintendo these days, it’s all about what gimmick the new console comes with. This one has motion sensing, touch screen controllers, where you can actually continue playing the games on the controller, if someone wants to use the TV, which is admittedly pretty cool. Although as someone that will probably be living in his own house by the time he buys a Wii U, I would like some more details as to how games will be able to utilise the gimmick beyond that. I’m sure they will. Nintendo are pretty good like that. Oh, and the graphics will apparently be HD, and as powerful as the PS3 and 360, which is nice, and the console itself is a lot sexier than the current one.

Wii U games – I’ve been burned before by Ninty. GameCube is all “Wow, new Zelda and Metroid and Mario, yays!” and launches with Luigi’s Mansion (which I still love, but even so). The Wii is all “OMGZ guys, brand new techology it’s amazing!” and launches with a port of a GameCube Zelda game. So do not expect ANY of these games to launch with the console, and you’ll be fine. But it still has a shit ton of third person titles around, such as Tekken (which admittedly hasn’t been good in around a decade), Batman: Arkham City and Assassin’s Creed.

3DS games – The 3DS was another launch disappointment, but one like no other. Something like 2 decent games were launched with neither of which caught the world alight, so it’s got it’s work cut out for it. So check out the trailers below, including Mario (with Raccoon suit!), Mario Kart (with hang-gliders!), Luigi’s Mansion 2 and Kid Icarus.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword – I love Zelda, but I’m worried that it doesn’t get quite the attention it deserves at Nintendo. Whilst Mario is off revolutionizing the platform genre, Zelda seems to be a little stagnated, trying to make a new Ocarina of Time, rather than a brilliant game in it’s own right. Here’s hoping all the sky business shakes things up a little.

Anyhoo, I’ll probs do another of these on Saturday, rounding out the rest of E3, including new trailers from Sonic and Batman. Nice.
