Please Please Don’t Leave Me

At the minute, it does seem like the majority of good telly at the moment is coming from America. And although they make better telly, the way they run the business is… iffy at best. Over here, if something is incredibly critically acclaimed it’s unlikely to get the axe even with poor ratings. Over there, if you don’t have good rating, you’re out the door, bye bye.

So once again, all the shows are trying to get renewed for another season. And since we all watch so much US telly I thought I’d do a little post about where each show stands as far as renewal is concerned.

  • Cougar Town
  • Castle
  • Grey’s Anatomy
  • The Middle
  • Modern Family
  • Private Practise
  • The Big Bang Theory
  • Two and a Half Men
  • American Dad
  • The Cleveland Show
  • Family Guy
  • Glee
  • Raising Hope
  • The Simpsons
  • 30 Rock

No huge surprises there, although I’m thrilled about Cougar Town, since it’s ratings are never amazing. Same with 30 Rock, although part of me knows it’s past it’s best and could probs do with being stopped while it’s not rubbish like some shows *cough* The Simpson *cough*. I’ve heard good things about Raising Hope too. Hopefully E4 will buy it.

  • Desperate Housewives
  • Criminal Minds
  • CSI
  • CSI: Miami
  • The Good Wife
  • How I Met Your Mother
  • The Mentalist
  • Mike & Molly
  • NCIS
  • NCIS: LA
  • Bones
  • House
  • The Office
  • 90210
  • Gossip Girl
  • Supernatural
  • The Vampire Diaries

Again, nothing out of the ordinary. Mike & Molly (a new sitcom about fatties in love) seems to be doing very well despite the “meh” things I’ve been hearing about it. Desperate Housewives should have finished years ago, and I’m not loving the office carrying on without Steve Carell. You’d think producers would have learnt by now, wouldn’t you?

  • Hawaii 5-0
  • $#*! My Dad Says
  • Fringe
  • Community
  • Law & Order: LA
  • Parks and Recreation
  • Parenthood

Loving the fact that Fringe is getting safer. It’s been moved to the Friday night “Death Slot” which is where networks put thing to die, and it’s actually kept all of it’s viewers and is winning the night! Awesome. Community and Parks and Recreation are another two I’ve heard good things about.

  • Better With You
  • Brothers and Sisters
  • No Ordinary Family
  • V
  • CSI: NY
  • Rules of Engagement
  • Lie To Me
  • Chuck
  • The Event
  • Outsourced
  • Nikita
  • One Tree Hill

Frankly, I’m just surprised to learn Rules of Engagement is still going. And The Event was never going to live up to the hype it got. Note to all producers: Nothing is going to be the new Lost. Let it go. I hope V gets renewed, but mainly because I have massive girl-crush on Elizabeth Mitchell. I still don’t watch it though.

  • Detroit 1-8-7
  • The Defenders
  • The Cape
  • Chase

I don’t know about anyone else but I’ve never heard of most of these. I’ve only heard of The Cape, and only because someone was complaining about how shit it is.

  • Skating With The Stars
  • Supernanny
  • Medium
  • Life Unexpected
  • Smallville
  • Undercovers

Nothing too upsetting has gone yet, although it would have been nice for Tish off of Doctor Who to do well in Undercovers. And the fact the Skating With The Stars is gone means that Fred and his lovely bum might be back on Dancing on Ice next year. Which is a Very Good Thing Indeed.
